single high end card or multiple mid cards
So I was thinking I would get an R9 290 or a 780 and then get a second one in SLI/CrossfireX down the road when they're a bit cheaper. But crossfire/sli is hit and miss for different games. So would it be better to get an R9 295X2 (Titan Z is ridiculously expensive) than get the 2 separate cards

For 3 monitors then you gotta go SLI/Crossfire if you want to get the full potential out of them...60fps at High/Ultra.

Get a single more powerful cards. SLI or Crossfire is OK but the power consumption will be heavy. You can SLI/CX if you are paying you power bills monthly and if you don`t have problem with that.

I'm thinking of going with 5760x1080

Just wait for gtx 980 and go SLI on them

When getting a new card, I always like to go single. Then later on I can SLi for more power (plus the card will then be cheaper). Then when I need more again, time for a new card.

Wait few more weeks and get a single gtx 980 and always try to have single card over dual it works better that way and has less issues. Also cards like 295X2 have dual gpus so if 1 gpu breaks its not a good deal better get 2 separate cards.
