Look no further than either the Z87 or Z97 ASRock Extreme4. It's a reliable motherboard with some nice essential features. (Overclocking, SLI). It doesn't have all the frills of more expensive boards, it just works. I can't justify spending any more than that.
Sometimes you can find the ASRock Z87/Z97 Fatal1ty Killer for less, if so, get that. Just keep in mind, the Z97 Fatal1ty Killer has lost SLI support. It's comparable as far as overclocking goes.
Z87 vs Z97 depends on whether or not you plan on going Broadwell or not. It's up to you!
Have you bought the 4670K yet? If not, get the 4690K.
