Best Corsair H100i Fan Setup (4 fans) on a 4790K?
Hi.

I'm getting a new gaming rig soon (I also run a lot of BOINC projects in my down time) and after much deliberation on what processor to get I've gone with an i7 4790K (I had initially wanted an FX-9590 but the 4790K performs better).

Anyway, I plan on cooling it with a Corsair H100i with 4 of Corsairs PWM Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition fans rather than the ones supplied with the H100i. It's going to be in a Corsair 750D case and all available fan slots are going to be used.

What would the best fan setup be? Push, Pull or both? See pics (I know that's an H100 pictured, it's not my setup, just used the picture for reference)

Push
Pull
Pull\Push

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Thanks!

Pull it is then!

I'm going to keep the fans as spares as I already have plans to replace the existing case fans as well as fill up any additional spaces.

Thanks again!

As you may already know, an AIO cooler like the H100i uses its fans to draw cool air across a radiator to cool the liquid inside, so logically, you want the fans in a pull configuration. By using a push configuration, warm air from within the case will be drawn over the radiator. The temperature difference probably won't be much in all likelihood, and the ambient temperature is always the deciding factor with PC cooling.

A push/pull configuration will simply disrupt air flow where the two sets of fans meet, so avoid doing this.

On the basis that you'd use a pull configuration, I'd suggest taking two of the H100i fans and using them as exhausts elsewhere in your case, if you can.
