Is the 980 worth it for me? Or should I stick with the 970?
Hey guys, I am going to buy a Nvidia gpu, because I want to use my 3d monitor and I maybe get g-sync in the future. And now that the 970 and 980 are released I am looking at getting one of them. I have been looking at benchmarks and I see about a 10 fps difference and the price is about 200 euros apart. If I get the 980 I wont be able to get 3d starter kit for a while, but if I get the 970 I can.
I have a 7870 atm and it is holding up in csgo and LoL but now that I got a 144hz monitor (vg248qe) I want to get high fps in BF and CoD aswell.
3d is not the primary reason im getting the card but its something I would like to get in the near future.
So 970 or 980?

Current benchmarks test DirectX 11 titles as far I as have read so you may want to wait for DX 12 results first.

Only you can tell which card is suited for you, 980 and 970 have differences in power consumption as well as computing power. Both of them would be a good upgrade from a 7870 in my opinion.

Also depends how you plan to acquire these items. If money is not a question for you for whatever reason, the highest end solution might be a good choice.
