I'm going to be buying a GPU tomorrow and need help deciding, I want a future proof card that delivers BANG for its buck, so i need help deciding because i was getting this r9 290 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX... but now for only £10 more i can get a GTX 970 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-zotac-gtx-970-pcie-3...(x16)-7010-mhz-gddr5-gpu-1076-mhz-boost-1216-mhz-cores-1664-dp-dvi-hdmi (the website shows sli as a X but its an ERROR) But I'm not sure. Whats your opinion? Also it will be one of these 2 precise card's so that's why I've got the links (these are the cheapest available for me).
AND PLEASE DON'T BE BIASED WITH THE AMD VS NVIDIA MANUFACTURER NONSENSE
EDIT: If i got the GTX 970 should i get http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-zotac-gtx-970-pcie-3...(x16)-7010-mhz-gddr5-gpu-1076-mhz-boost-1216-mhz-cores-1664-dp-dvi-hdmi
OR http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-evga-gtx-970-acx10-p...(x16)-7010mhz-gddr5-gpu-1050mhz-boost-1178mhz-cores-1664-dp-dvi-hdmi
Top card has more clock speed but only 12 months warranty and the EVGA is slower but has 36 months warranty

I was in the same boat as you as I was about to buy the R9 290X to replace the 7970 but this morning I went for the GTX 970. Great price and a bit more future proof with DX12 and uses less power though that might not be to much of a consideration. I just bit the bullet and ordered the Gigabyte G1 from Scan...AMDs cards also support DirectX 12.
yeah am i missing some new news or development or something? last i knew, and this was a while back.... all kepler and hawaii and tahiti, think some fermi too, will support dx12... but kepler and hawaii for sure.

Here the review of the GTX 970 EVGA.
It should perform better than the R9 290 with a lower power consumption, has full support with Direct 12 etc..

Your links don't work.
