Asus GTX 760 Striker(sli) vs Asus GTX 780Ti (single)
Hello community, I'm looking for some advice into which GPU configuration I should implement into my new build. I'm building a new setup primarily for video editing/design purposes but plan to do some recreational gaming as well. The basics for this set up are an i7 5930k, Asus Rampage V extreme, and 16GB of G. Skill 2133 DDR4 ram. My monitor is a 4K resolution monitor and therefore plan on doing high resolution gaming. At the current price point, I can get two 760 strikers for $560 or a single GTX 780 Ti for $590. I would prefer to do two 780Ti's in ski, but won't be able to afford this two card setup initially. My thought process is maybe I could grab another one at a later date, but would prefer to complete my build all at once. . but I'm open to the idea of adding another card if I went for the 780, at another time. What would you recommend at this time for me? Gaming isn't my top priority but I want to be relevant for a few years to come. Would be happy gaming with the strikers gaming at 4k resolution? More happy than a single 780 Ti for the foreseeable future? I also understand that the 900 series is due to launch this month, and have rumors that the 980 will be launched with a price point of $550? Should I wait and opt for a single 980? What would you guys recommend? My issue with the 980 is that other variants of this card will be released soon I'm sure that will bring performance boosts, so should I opt for the first wave of these cards, go for the 760's, or a single 780 Ti? Thanks for your help on this.
