Need to fix bsod (gpu maybe?)
I recently bought a new gpu (3870x2) and whenever i start my pc, i get a bsod. I dont get it when i start in safe mode. The blue screen STOP message is this: Stop: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x93910F1E, 0x8E1C3B40, 0x8E1C383C) that is the message. Any help is appreciated

When you say a 3870x2? are you talking about crossfiring or the two gpus in one card?

Did you buy windows for this or was it on it when you purchased it? And do you have the key for it?

No. Ive had this copy of windows almost since it came out. I dont have the disc anymore. But there arent any file names

From the sounds of it you just installed windows? Maybe you could try re-installing windows? It sounds like its a driver problem is conflicting with something else..

When it blue screens does it say any file name before the numbers?

The card in it must be faulty then if the 8800 works. Or its drivers if theyre installed are corrupt

I used the tool. I have a spare 8800 gtx graphics card that works fine i just dont have its drivers installed. Its been offline for about a week now

Very odd then. Its like something is on the hdd somewhere but what. How long has it been offline?

You could try and do a full scan of the hdd with defender but its defs are probably out of date

If it were a rootkit wouldnt it show up on my 8800 as well?
