780 Ti vs. 980
Hi,

I'm building a new gaming/video editing pc for Christmas and I don't know if I should get the 780 Ti or the 980. The 980 is more power efficient and costs less but the 780 ti has ~800 more cuda cores. Does this change anyhting? Do additional cuda cores mean better performance in gaming and/or video editing?

The 980 is the better of the two. Ignore the core count it isn't relevant. What software are you editing video in?

Go with the 980, the 780ti is more expensive, not power conversant and slower. The 980 is power conversant, faster and cheaper. Forgot about the Cuda cores, the Maxwell cores are 40% faster than the Kepler cores.

980 performs better and is a lower price, its what I'd go with. If your not video editing for a living then you don't really need to worry about cuda performance between one high end gpu to another.
