I was looking to get the EVGA GeForce GTX 760 Dual Superclocked w/ EVGA ACX Cooler but then the new R9 285 came in and looks to be powerful than the 760. I know the 760 has more clockspeed and other stuff, but benchmarks show the 285 crushes it and also the R9 280. I have to make a decision between the GTX 760, R9 285 and R9 280.
I need some advice from you guys.

Hmm..... So i think i'll go with the R9 280. Thanks a lot man. Your awesome
Good choice.
Oh and you can easily hit 7970ghz edition performance out of overclocking it on stock voltage. If you decide to get brave it can go even higher than the performance of the 7970ghz/280x at stock clock speeds. Of course they can be overclocked as well though.

The r9 280x is the best card, then the r9 285, then either the r9 280 or GTX 760. The last 2 cards are pretty much the same. They trade blows from game to game. The r9 280 has 3gb of ram vs the GTX 760 at 2gb. That may come in handy in future titles, or if you end up purchasing a monitor with a high resolution. Hope this helps.
So what about the R9 285? Should I consider it over the 760 and 280?
It is faster than both. Not by much, but it is faster.
The r9 280 has 3gb of vram, and the r9 285 only has 2gb. The rest of the specs are pretty much identical. You can get the r9 280 for around $200, and the r9 285 is around $250. I would say the r9 280 is still the best bang for your buck though. I don't think the r9 285 is fast enough to justify the extra $50 honestly.

add some money and go with gtx 970. all the cards you've menshioned are 'old' compared to 970. gtx 970/980 review is on this site too. i myself go with nvidia because it has much more cool features like physx, etc. or wait some time and go with gtx 960 when it's out. seriously no need to buy old renamed cards(like 7950) when you can buy fresh new and much more powerful one. i dont think you make upgrades every half a year.
/e http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-97... here is your review. and, btw, r9 280x is renamed 7970 so it's more powerful than 280(7950) you were going to buy.
