Hey,
I'm gonna buy a 970 finally but I can't decide which brand to go with.
Best choices in my country are MSI and GIGABYTE=almost the same price (well gigabyte is like 10$ cheaper then MSI)
I've read some reviews and I must say this gigabyte card looks just sexy and awesome oc potential but MSI looks great too .. that doesn't make it easy for me.
What u think? thanks

EVGA 970 is available now for good price(still not extra difference between Evga and GB in pricing) ... Should I buy it? And if so .. why evga? Superb cooling, very OCable, great quality. Only if you don't mind a bit more loudness vs other 970s, its a great card, the SC versions especiallly. GB is a mamoth card, I'd go for it for all round performance (including quietness).

I ordered the Strix Asus 970 myself, but I was considering these 2 cards as well and for a long time I couldn't make up my mind. In the end I wanted to go for either the Asus or the MSI because I really like the idea of semi-passive cooling, and also because the Gigabyte was a tad too long; I like smaller cards.
These three are by far the best non-reference 970s though. The Gigabyte card is huge and more of a serious card that just does its job, and in the figures (performance/cooling/noise) it's probably the overall winner of all the 970s. Its design looks very rigid as well. The MSI one looks more funky (though I prefer the previous Twin Frozr design I think), in the figures it's not far behind the GB one, and has that nice feature in the semi-passive cooling design.

Either is fine. They are both great cards.
I'd choose the MSI personally, but it really is up to you. You can't go wrong with either.
The only reason I would personally choose the MSI is because I have had no issues at all with any of their hardware. I have a motherboard that has been overclocking my PH II x6 for over 3 years now without issue, and I have a TF III 7950 that has given me no issues. It overclocks really well, and has a really high ASIC rating. 93.7 rating. I don't know if that is typical of all MSI's cards though.
