Which gtx 970 is best for overclocking?
I plan on purchasing one of the new GTX 970's but I'm having trouble deciding which would be best for overclocking.

I'm not looking to spend much more than the retailed 329.99. I'm looking at the Asus DirectCU ii Strix, but I notice it only has 1 8 pin pci power connector. I have a feeling that will severely cripple its overclocking capabilities.

EVGA is out of the question right now. I've read too many hate threads about their new ACX 2.0 cooler and how their power-phase design is cheap crap.

I'm interested in a card with a strong build quality, back-plate, and high overclock-ability.

What do you guys think?

I like evgas customer service but I'm iffy about the new cooler. The gtx 970 FTW has a nice clock right from the get go so the cooler might not be all that bad...

Again 6phase ftw, Gigabyte G1 and MSI Gaming are the best solutions - coolest ones of this first round of 970 releases

Probably the Gigabyte G1 would be best for overclocking - IF you can fit it into your system (it's massive). It has a backplate, it's very rigid and cools like a mo****f****r. Quiet too.
a b K Overclocking

The Asus OCs well, but the MSI is better. Although, the MSI has no backplate and has a plastic shroud. ASUS have a backplate and a metal shroud.
