R9 270X vs 280X vs 290X for dual screen setup
I'm debating of getting either a dual 270x, dual 280x or one 290x for my dual screen setup which are two Gateway KX2703bd. I read a lot of how the 280x and 290x either overheat alot or they sag (I assume they mean the card isn't rigid enough?) or how problematic they both are and its pushing me to get a crossfire 270x. How future proof will this be and is it worth it if I plan to water cool or should I get the 280x's and water cool?

If you can get an r9 290x or gtx 980 then do so. It will be less of a hassle then using a dual gpu set up. Gtx 980 is faster then a 290x but both are good and if you don't have a preference(AMD or NVIDIA) then get the cheaper card. Yes the 290x will use more power and does run hot but any after market cooler by MSI, Sapphire, or XFX will be be fine.

Just a single 970 will better 280X or 290 by a margin, 980 will eliminate the competition. I'd just get myself a single 970 against all those AMDs.
