Hello all,
So there has been a discount on GTX 780 Ti and it has been cut from it's original price of $750 to $430...that's crazy $320 in savings! I'm debating whether to get it or should I just go with the GTX 970. It's priced at about $370. I heard it's not that great atm but once the updates start coming, the performance will increase.

That GTX 780 Ti also comes with a free copy of Borderland the Pre-Sequel. It's hard to go wrong with all the choices at hand. In terms of performance out of the box, that 780 Ti is an all-custom factory overclocked model, so very comparable, if not faster, than a stock GTX 980. Tough calls all around.
I guess I would stick with my mantra: Price-performance is a good thing, but there's a lot more to buying a video card. You have to look at the total package and decide if the extra features of one card outweigh the price-performance of the other card. In this case, the GTX 970/980s have a few extra features and a nice level of power efficiency to push them out in front. After all, that's why the GTX 780 Ti is so cheap in the first place. Just don't get a reference model. I'd take that Zotac AMP! over a reference GTX 980 in a heartbeat.

The 970 is a solid graphics card, using less power and giving 1GB more VRAM and obviously is newer tech (Maxwell) and $330 http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=100003150...
There's little difference in the 970 / 980 / 780 TI currently.
