I have read a TON of reviews and watched ton of videos. More and more i do it it seems to get more complicated. I havent read a lot about EVGA though since everybody seems to have huge hype over ASUS and MSI.
Now here is the question. Which GTX 970 is better overclocker? Asking which performs best is useless since they all use same chip.
I heard lot of good things about Gigabytes version. Personally its in my shopping list at the moment for couple of reasons. I have seen good overclocks with it (1500mhz+) and it runs extremely cool. Although i have hear bad things like fans wearing out very quickly and generaly not so good build quality.
MSI Twin Frozr has got ton of attention however i havent seen any good overclocks and temperatures are bit lower
Same goes for ASUS Strix. Generally its highly popular but i have heard that it runs hot and you cant overclock it as well as u can others.
And generally nothing much about EVGA.
Can some GPU expert explain these rumours to me and tell me if they are true or not, especially if Gigabytes fans will die fast?
Tnx.

I heard EVGA and Corsair HX series are the two really good ones...I was thinking of buying one and hooking it up to give it a shot...if I still have a buzz then return it with newegg premier or amazon prime like I've been doing with the video cards
....really using my subscriptions to both of those online stores lately
I was actually thinking this one?

Dude. I just put together brand new PC with all new parts and i chose AX 860 PSU. Its the best u can get and still i have the buzzing and ticking when i am playing games.
Oh for real? So the time and effort may not be worth it then....hmmm probably why so many people have the buzzing noise...we can't all have bad PSUs! lol....good thing I game with a headset
But it is odd I still could hear buzzing with my old GPU so it might be a different issue for me in particular...I'll try the last two cards and see how it goes, then maaaaaaaaaaaaayyybe I'll try a new psu if I have to...but i'm very skeptical....I just want to try every option to see if I can get the buzz to cease. It seems a few lucky people have no noise so I want to get that too...although I wonder if some of those people just aren't listening to their card closely during benchmarks with the side panel off.
Also dawis according to your GTA post...I don't believe the buzz hurts anything. From what I know the buzzing is a noise that always happens on the card, but generally humans can't hear it at the frequency the noise makes. For some reason with the 970 cards the frequency of the buzz is audible to the human ear during load and we are all picking up noises. As far as I know it has no negative effect whatsoever...just noise...which I'd like to eliminate
.I can guarantee that new PSU wont work. Its maybe just the design of the cards or something. My AX PSU is 80+ platinum. I highly doubt that its PSU thats doing it. Although i have been hearing some ticking from my PSU too but its again very quiet. Fans make the most noise.

Ok guyz. I got my MSI tested on some games. The games i tested on were AC2 AC3 and Max Payne 3 on Ultra. Results were good. My CPU didnt get hotter than 40C and MSI has NO coil whine and its fans work perfectly. I started Max Payne 3 and the fans started spinning. Both of them. I think the results are good. Also only noise the card makes is this high pitch buzzing but i can hear it when i open the sidepanel and put my ear next to it. I am quite satisfied with the resultsYep that buzzing noise seems to be what myself and a ton of people are getting. I got it with four different MSI cards and now two different Gigabyte cards. It's not really audible until you open the side panel or get your head right next to the case.
Newegg just got the Gigabyte cards back in stock so I ordered 2 more. This is my last attempt to see if I can get a card that doesn't buzz. If these last 2 buzz that will be four MSI and four Giga cards all tested with buzz and I will say that this is either normal or something else is going on with my system. After 8 tries I think that will prove it to myself to stop ordering these cards >.< lol.
You're taking all of the cards, man!
The buzzing may go away after a while. Quite a few people are reporting it goes away after some good use.
Lol nah...I'm returning them right after I test them...I have to make use of Newegg Premier
I did run my second two MSI cards for a week and the buzz didn't subside...so I'm not too sure if it will go away for me
. Maybe it takes longer than a week though...I'm almost about to order a new PSU to just see if it works.
What is your current PSU?
A new PSU may help, but it's unlikely. I guess you could also say that getting coil whine with six different cards is also unlikely, though.
I have a 1000W Cooler Master Silent Gold...had it for a few years now...I don't think it's ever really given me an issue...
Well, you may want to try a new one. If you do buy one, I recommend the EVGA SuperNova G2 750W. Here is the JonnyGURU review.
750W is more than enough for 970 SLI. For $79.99 after MIR it's an absolutely amazing deal.
