so i got a HP Pavilion 500-319na ( http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=ECC_B... )
Pc and have a Radeon 5800 card, I replaced the PSU with a 780W one. tried the new card and the pc would not boot. just a black screen with a few beeps. Is my motherboard not compatable?

Unfortunately, it is compatible spec wise but in terms of HP hardware it isn't. People have done this many times with other prebuilt desktops with similar scenarios.
Try leaving in your card and connect the monitor to your onboard video. See if it works. Look in your device manager to see if it detects the 8500. Load the drivers from your disk if you have a working monitor. Then go into you motherboard bios and change from Intel onboard graphics to your radeon card. Save and reboot.
