750w psu enough for r9 290 xfire?
So I have the rm 750w fully modular psu & I was wondering whether I would be able to get a 2nd r9 290 without the need to upgrade my psu. I haven't over clocked anything. I have an i5 4670k r9 290, 2x1Tb HDD 7200rpm 1xdvd rw,z87-hd3 mobo, 2x4gb ram, nzxt hue & 5 fans

Most likely it will not enough. I assume you will overclock your CPU later plus Crossfire, you will need at least 1100W...

I did not connect this thread with the other one. Sorry for my brain failure.

The rm750 is a tier 3 unit. I would not be wanting to run it that close to it's limit. At the time I made the original statement, I assumed that you would be overclocking your K class CPU.

The max power needs of the R9 290 pair is about 550W (580W for the 290X) Your 750W supply is too small for them and all the other gubbins.

but thats 200w for a cpu a couple Hdd's and a few fans. tbh that isnt too much
