Will a storage HD from a Win 7 pc show the files if plugged into a Win 8 pc?
Hi guys I've a question, as the title above states my Windows 7 PC died. The hard drive with the OS; Windows 7, died and the drive is dead. I had a second hard drive in this PC with all my files on it just in case this happened. I also have a Windows 8 PC and was wondering if I can switch the storage hard drive from the dead PC to the Windows 8 machine as long as the storage drive is a slave to the new machine or will I have to find another solution? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah That's what I mean by files. No apps, just backup documents, videos, music ect. That's good to hear that I can recover those files. Thanks.

Depending on your definition of 'files', yes.

Doc/music/video/etc...yes
Applications, no.
