i bought a new monitor thats 23inch that i used to play games and it has plug in for dvi dual and wanted to know if i should get a dvi single link or dual?
Depending on the price of the cable(which is probably negligible) and your choice of whether you'd be moving up to higher resolutions (say 1440p) the path of buying a dual link cable would seem appropriate however if you have no intentions whatsoever of going beyond 1080p then single link is the route to go.
If its 1080p then it wont make a difference either way.
Anyway, I'm inclined to think that if it has a Dual Link port then its intended for you to use a Dual Link cable.
So it will work perfectly fine if i get the Dual link cable for 1080p

Single-Link DVI will drive up to 1920x1200 @ 60hz, anything higher requires Dual-Link DVI
