Just upgraded my rig from a GTX 470 to a GTX 980. When playing certain games, it causes the computer to reboot with no warning and no error message. The GTX 980 uses less power and I have a 1000W PSU. I would figure it might be a faulty GPU but some games work while others dont...

What model of PSU?

To disable auto restart, use Safe Mode (F8) - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/advanced-sta...

But you stll have to find what the fault is.

Post your complete and detailed build.

Download HWInfo and run Sensors. Post the results - usually 3 screenshots in TinyPic or similar.

CPU is staying pretty cool still. I haven't seen it go above 58C, but I can check that. Is it a BIOS setting?

Maybe its letting you cpu work harder and the cpu is getting hot and you have auto restart on failure still enabled.
