1st generation i3-550 LGA 1156 Processor capable enough?
Is the i3 550 Intel processor fairly capable in running nowadays games? I am curious since I own a processor but have never gotten around to using it, since i decided to use a haswell based processor for my budget gaming build/

I3 550 is going to bottleneck most of the modern GPU but you will be safe with 3rd or 4th gen i3.

It's a capable processor. I used a dual core for a long time and it's only games like multiplayer battlefield 3 or running programs in the background while gaming where I felt a i5 quadcore was needed.

If you are a casual to moderate gamer, you'll be fine.
