Solved Forum question

is 400w enough for my system
i have a fx 8350 with gigabyte 990x motherboard, 8gb hyperX ddr3 ram, xfx hd 6870 1gb, 750gb standard seagate sata hdd 2 120mm fans and 3 usb devices the psu i have is a fsp 400-60.
this psu powered my old system witch was a intel core 2 quad q8200 8gb ddr2 ram xfx hd6870 1gb, 750 gb hdd, 2 120mm fans

The FX 8 consumes more power than C2Q, and the system itself with GPU+CPU will consume over 275W on full loads, and OCing would go over 300W, and that PSU supplies 336W on 12V line (which supplies the CPU and GPU), and using it close to its peak load is not recommended, not with FSP. I'd get a new, higher wattage and better quality PSU, which doesn't set my house alight when on full loads or OCing :)
