SLI/Crossfire and dual monitors
How do multiple GPU setups work with dual monitors? I've encountered confusing data (or maybe I simply don't have a good enough grasp on the subject matter). What I want to know is, which of the following scenarios are possible with SLI? Which are possible with Crossfire?

a) Dual monitors: increased performance on primary display, secondary display shows desktop/other programs. No dual-monitor gaming.

b) Triple monitors: multiple-GPU-level performance on primary display, other monitors active but not for gaming- basically A, but with three monitors instead of two.

c) Not really going to do this, but for the sake of making this thread more informative for future readers: dual/multiple monitor gaming with SLI/Crossfire active.

yes, That would have been from a long time ago now, and if recently certainly incorrect. As With the build I mentioned earlier I managed to do Furmark GPU stress test across both screens with both cards showing up in the software. Both cards were under strain and producing plenty of heat.

all cards that support crossfire/SLI will run two screens.

a) You can game on one screen and have the other stationary or have other things open.

b) if you have the middle screen as primary, you can game on just the centre screen and have other things open on the other two.

c) you can game on two screens and if not allowing open it in windowed mode. I did a build recently wit dual R9 280's and two samsung 23" PLS monitors and works like a charm.

Thanks! So the information I read somewhere saying that running additional displays will disable SLI/Crossfire is either outdated or incorrect, is that right?
