GPU Upgrade Suggestions
This is my current rig:
Intel i7 2600 cooled by Cooler Master Hyper TX3
Asus P8P67 PRO
Generic Kingston 4 GB RAM 1333mhz
Seagate 1 TB + WD Green 2 TB HDD
Sapphire AMD HD 5450 1GB GPU
Corsair VS 550 PSU
Housed in Cooler Master HAF 912 Combat with 6 fans(4 fans with LED lighting)

Need to upgrade my GPU as I have a feeling it wont survive the November game releases, and I could use a better graphics for Path of Exile too.
No specific budget as such, but I want to keep it low...below 15-18k INR would be a good estimate.
Looking for the best VFM and ability to run all games for the next 3 years or so at at least lowest settings.

My display is Dell S2240L btw.
(I prefer AMD as a rule, but if Nvidia offers significant advantages as far as VFM and life, I will go for it)

Edit: Considering the Sapphire Radeon R9 270X with Boost OC 2 GB

The 960 will also be launching this month. It should be similar in price to a 760.
If you can wait for that, then you should, as it'll have more performance and an additional gigabyte of VRAM, which you could need for upcoming games at 1080p on your S2240L.

Also, is the glossiness of the screen comparable to a laptop screen? If so then I have no issues.

The 760 will run perfectly fine on a 550W, even if it's a crap VS series.
The PSU requirements are generalized, and trust me, we know better.
Also, I would recommend you to save up and go for a GTX 970 when they come to India full fledged and their price stabilizes. They are blazing fast, and have 4 gigabytes of RAM. They'll do your CPU justice.

BTW how is the S2240L? I'm considering buying it and have heard praise, but also heard there aren't many trustable reviews on Flipkart(most are noobs).

I am a student so saving is not an option as my income is nonexistant. The GTX 970 looks heavenly, but I wont be able to get it anytime soon. Thank you for laying to rest my PSU inadequacy fears, the only other concern I have is if there are any NVIDIA options in the same price range that may perform better/live longer.

The S2240L is brilliant. The only con I can think of is the glossiness of the screen, which is a bit too much . This is very good for bright and vibrant scenes and photos, but if you are watching dark photos or videos with dark/blackish backgrounds, you can see every light source opposite the monitor, including your own face along with the scene :)
As long as the monitor is angled away from windows and tubelights, this issue can be minimized. In spite of this I would strongly recommend the monitor, as the past few months I have used it were just heavenly.

The 270x is a perfect fit for your budget. But if you can go a bit more you can get a gtx 760:

Both are great, but if you can add more then go for the 760 :)

Well the 760 does seem out of my budget for the moment, plus the PSU requirement seems incompatible as well.
I'm fairly certain that the 270X can run on a 550W PSU, as I have no plans of upgrading mu PSU for a while.
