Screen keeps going to sleep every 5 seconds
I have a Sony Vaio VGC-RT1SU combined desktop and screen. I use a Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave pro keyobard and mouse and I accidentally pressed the PC sl;eep button on it. Now the screen/display remains dark and it only goes on if I double press the Display Off button , but even then it only remains on for at least 5 seconds. I had this problem before when I pressed the PC Sleep but I cannot remember how to fix it, (I should of gotten a new keyboard). Its getting quite painful to keep pressing the Disply button but sometimes it will remain on for 15-20 minutes if I am lucky.

I have tried fixing it by changing the Power Options, and Sleep Options of Display and Computer to Never but this has not helped. I have also tried to do system restore to before this occurred twice and still I have the same problem. I am assuming that there must be something I can do to change my settings to prevent this from happening as there appears to be no fault with the screen or running of the computer, only the fact the screen stays on for mere seconds, although the problem does start as soon as it is switched on. Can anyone help solve this issue please?

Update: There appears to be a Power problem, every time I put the power cable into the pc, the computer switches on even though the PC was previously switched off. The Display button that I have to press to view the Screen every 5-10 seconds is below the Power Switch. Is there maybe a problem with this? I have tried Switching Off the computer, pulling out the cable and holding the Power button for 30 seconds or more but sadly this does not resolve the issue. The only effect is the time and date is reset to some years ago. Anyone have any insight into what maybe causing the problem
