Looking to upgrade to an r9 270x sapphire 2gb PSU questions
I am currently running an AM3 1100T phenomx6 on an 880g usb3.0 biostar board with 4x4gb ddr3 1600mhz ram, 1 HD 6870 XFX, OCZ fatal1ty 550w psu, 1x 500gb hdd 7200rpm,2x Sata3 60gb corsair force gt in raid 0, thermaltake v9 case, and a EVGA superclock cooler on the cpu. Will my current setup be able to swap out the gpu and power a new r9 270x sapphire toxic 2gb or will I need a new psu. Other card recomendations welcome if you believe i shouldnt buy this card.

Thanks for the feedback, The new egg calculator jumped my power consumption from 481w to around 930w estimated with the gpu change so I was hesitant to buy it. The psu seems to be doing well sofar. I could upgrade it however, I dont know if there will be any benefit to it. My other question is will this card perform well on an am3 board or will I get the same results out of a lesser card. I could buy a am3+ if my cpu will fit on it if its going to perform better for the card.

No, you wont encounter much bottle. Even if you do, it will be so minimal it wouldn't be worth upgradeing.

It should work without an issues my friend, I check all the wattages and connectors for you. Everything looks good, I just hope your psu is of good quality.

550w is enough for your 270x

Also.. Its a great gpu for its price, it will hanlde games at 1080p on high settings.
