Home file/media server build
New to the server world, but I am looking to build one. I have 6-7 TB worth of movies and tv shows, and 750 gigs of personal data. I want everything to be backed up. Also something with fairly lower power consumption if possible.

I have them on various HDD as follows:
4-3tb; 2-2tb; 2-1tb; 2-120gb SSD drives

For building the server, I have an Antec 1900 tower laying around, but nothing else so far. How should I go about this build? In my household, I have one other desktop and 4 laptops that will be accessing the data. I also would like the computers backed up w/ images on the server. Should I consider Windows Home Server or something else? I would also like to run plex

I have been eyeing some 12 to 24 bay 2U form servers on ebay for less than 400 that work. I would just take the guts out and put them in my Antec case. I know the PSU wont work and I will have to buy one.

Anybody have a similar situation or care to offer insight?

Thanks
