Doubt about Sound Card choice
So I'm building up a new gaming pc on a budget and unfortunately I am not a veteran connoisseur at this (first gaming pc , transfering from the PS platform)
My doubt atm is wheter i should opt for the Asus Xonar DGX 5.1-Channel Gaming Audio Card or if i should just keep the onboard 8 channel (7.1) HD audio as standart .

I'm not sure which would be better as i have been told that currently the 5.1 system can be more valuable for the gaming experience as opposed to the 7.1 due to numerous reasons - not wanting to keep prolonging this , as simple as it is , which sound card would be best? The standart or the Asus Xonar?
Thank you in advance for any help/advice.

I would suggest you try out the on-board audio before spending money on another component. Most on-board audio is quite good on modern motherboards and meets (exceeds) the needs of most users.

If you are not happy with the sound produced, you can always add a stand alone device later.

I guess that is the most sensible thing to do , thanks for taking the time .
