New Monitor/New GPU Question
I've been following the new release of the GTX 970 and have done my research. I'm thinking about getting one of the following GPUs.

EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0
or GIGABYTE GV-N970G1 GAMING-4GD with slight preference to the EVGA FTW edition. I'd also consider the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0

I currently have 2 monitors and I'm strongly considering upgrading one gpu (currently have one EVGA 570) and getting a 1440p ASUS PB278Q monitor . My current monitors are the HP 2159m (1920x1080) and the Samsung T260HD (1920x1200). If possible, I'd like to keep all 3 monitors in use.

Do one of the above GPU's have an advantage with a setup like this? I'd like to do my main gaming on the ASUS 1440p monitor. I'm mainly asking due to seeing that the GTX970 FTW only has one DisplayPort and I keep on seeing information about the GIGABYTE Flex Display. From what I understand both would be possible, I just wanted to see what you guys thought the best bet would be.

The coil whine issue for EVGA isn't a large deal with me, I feel like I can easily get an RMA from them. I *slightly* prefer them because for an extra $40 I can extend my warranty to 10 years/$20 for 5. I severely doubt that I will overclock my gpu. Small performance differences don't matter to me and I may consider going SLI in a few months if a price drop/sale happens. I've heard a lot of positives about GIGABYTE and with my setup if that would be the better choice, then I'd happily choose them instead.

Thanks for the help!

The thing is coil whine hasn't been an issue in my PC. Either it's isolated issues or I can't notice it with all the fans I have running. Water cooled CPU though. Dual 970s, haven't had any issues except one SLI bridge failure (Asus).

The 970 can utilize SLI just fine however, it's worth mentioning I believe that to this date regardless of the configuration you have a maximum of 3 displays you can use with Nvidia. Really any GTX 970 is going to greatly benefit your performance. I would research the individual cards and see which one runs the coolest during 100% operation, and make the decision from there. Unfortunately I'm having difficulty obtaining it, otherwise I'd let you know. All the video cards regardless of the manufacturer utilize the same GPU. The only differences are the power package and the memory. Let me know If you have any questions. I got the 970 ACX 1.0. The 2.0 supposedly runs cooler because the cooler because the heatsink is more efficiently designed to produce more cooling. The ACX 1.0 has a weaker cooler, but has more airflow. Personally I purchased the ACX 1.0 but Have never had an issue. I would recommend this which you listed:

Any of the video cards you've selected are built to the Nvidia specification, and therefore can use all three monitors fine. You may need some different cables or adapters however.

Thanks. I'm strongly considering the EVGA 970 FTW, but I can't find any place that carries it excluding the EVGA store (and haven't been able to for the past couple of days). If you find any other place, give me a heads up.
