Need a graphics card GatewayGM5472
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me answer a question... I recently fell into an older machine, Gateway GM5472... Currently it has a 512mb Geforce 9400 PCI -E card... but I am having some trouble with it. I would like to replace the card and if possible upgrade a bit. I have around 60 dollars to spend... give or take a few bucks, especially if it's a good deal. I found this on Ebay, but I asked the seller and he said he did not think it would be comptaible with this machine... If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very appreciative... My birthday here is on the 23 of the month and I am just thinking of getting myself a new graphics card to go with this set up.. already updated the total Ram, Etc... Thanks again!

Given the budget, and the CPU of this system, I can't in all conscience give you a great choice. However,

You have 1 PCI-E 1.0 slot, to utilize this on a 60 dollar budget wouldn't be possible. The best card you can get with that budget is a radeon HD 7750, and it's still just a little above. The card is really not all that spectacular, but it will work.

Comparatively with a budget 730, you sacrifice about 400% of the performance.

A similar card for the NVidia line up would be the 740, however it's essentially exactly on par with the HD 7750.
