Is this a compatible and good build?
CPU: Intel Core I7-4790
M/B: Asus H97-PRO
RAM: G.Skill DDR3-1600 8GB Dual Channel RipjawsX F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
PSU: Corsair HX-750i
GPU: XFX Radeon R9 285 2GB
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U14S
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda
SSD: 128GB Crucial MX100
Case: NZXT H440

Would you approve?

I know the CPU cooler is very over kill but it is money I need to spend on the PC anyway.

EDIT: And I will be running a second XFX Radeon R9 285 2GB later on CrossFireX

Even with a stock cooler, how will you remove the CPU without removing the cooler?

And I'm not arguing for the sake of it, I actually believe in my arguments.

Actually, we both forgot/didn't note that my build didn't contain a cooler:)

How would get remove the CPU without removing the cooler then?

Once again, you are arguing for the sake of arguing. Lets just leave it at: OP can pick which he wants. Both are good options. I personally recommend the xFX650.

I would reinstall Windows to get SLI/CFX capability.

Right... OP could use a cooler upgrade later on...

And most likely reinstall Windows.

You HAVE to remove the cooler to change motherboards. How would you leave it on?

Why not? It's only a matter of an hour or two, but you'd have to reapply thermal paste and all that if you take the cooler out before upgrading...

Upgrading motherboards is the last thing you ever do. I would not consider that he will be doing that or a LONG time if ever, before building a whole new computer.

I say get the 650w XFX unit.

It's okay...
I'd agree with the 650 watt PSU UNLESS OP plans to buy a new motherboard which allows for SLI/CFX.
