PC gaming build/podcast need help
Hello everybody names ned

So I need some help or advice. I'm building my first ever gaming PC and would like some help on what parts I needs. I'm looking to spend between $800-$1000. I will be playing games along the line of counter strike jade empire dragon age origins. I will also be picking up the new dragon age in November and would like to run the game as intended (if the budget allows). I will be doing a weekly podcast and would like to do some basic audio editing(very basic) I will record the cast and upload done and done. I was looking for something that would allow me to get a good gaming experience but still be able to handle me recording a podcast.

What I already have.
Monitor 144hz 1920 1080p
Gaming mouse and monitor

I will be buying windows 7-64bit or windows 8-64bit ( any comments here would be welcome)

Any help would be much appreciated.
I'm a rookie so go easy on me I'm learning and you helping me would go a long way.

No, you don't need 1TB SSD, SSD is for OS and main programs and games, it speeds up everything, making the experience a lot faster than conventional HDDs. HDD is ideal for bulk storage, big games, and data like files, music, videos, etc. 120GB is fine for OS and main programs with a couple games, 250GB is fine for the whole C drive along with most games and apps, 500GB can be fit for the whole storage, OS+data, unless you're a movie buff, 1TB is overkill and not the best value/money.

Should I upgrade to TB on ssd or is it better to have a hdd.

Thanks a lot this was super helpful.

Feel free to swap Windows firstly, I personally prefer 7 over 8. Xeon is basically a non-OCable i7 w/o integrated graphics, HTs will help a lot in video editing (i5 is no less though), is better than a non-OCable i5 due to HTs, and will not bottleneck any given GPU. The GPU, 970, is great for maxed out gaming with comfortable FPS.
PS: Haven't included a HDD, if you have any, you can use it, or else feel free to swap it with the SSD.
