No monitor Display w/ new graphics card
Hello, I just purchased a new graphics card to fix my machine which had one that overheated quickly and caused the machine to shut down. The new graphics card doesn't provide any display on my monitor. I am really unsure why as the old one did provide a picture but had to shut down after some time. Everything is connected and plugged in completely and I use a VGA cable with an adapter so it works with the graphics card/monitor.
Specs:
GPU (new): R7 Radeon 250x-2GD5
Mobo: Gigabyte 970A-D3P

Ahh perfect. It was too bad that I didn't see this earlier as I had brought it to a computer technician to get it fixed. You were right about the 6 pin from psu to gpu! My other graphics card didn't have that. Thanks for the help and sorry for the late reply. You figured out the problem!

Ok, you got a decent PSU, but just keep in mind, the decent ones can fail too !

Now, what adapter are you using ? Is it a DVI-I (24 + 5 pins = 29 pins) to VGA or DVI-D (24 + 1 pin = 25 pins) to VGA ?

Most likely the DVI-I (29 pins) adapter will work with VGA.

Make sure to plug the PCI-E 6 pin connector from PSU to GPU.
