It looks like the MSI card would be better for you, it has a very good cooler on it. Nothing is future proof and 5 years is a long time in the PC world, With that said, the 970 is about the best bang for the buck today and a GREAT performer, so getting one of these is the smartest move you could make, can't do much more than that.these cores will only go so fast, even if a cards says 1355Mhz it may not reach that because of thermal issues, the MSI has a good cooler like I said, don't know about Zotac.
Thanks for your reply. I will go for MSI also because it has the best looks compared to all its counterparts.
Cheers.

I know little about Zotac but MSI is very popular here and make good products, perhaps get the one with the best customer support where you live as that is important, I would guess the cards are going to be very similar.Corsair, Seasonic, XFX are good brands, take a look here...this tells you who is making what.

You won't need much power if you don't plan on SLI, the 970 is only 145W I think. check these out.

Maybe around 550-600w in a gold rating would last you a long time....
Thanks a lot, appreciate your guidance.
According to specs, the MSI has more OC options, i think, pardon me if i am wrong.
1140MHz Core (Boost Clock:1279MHz) (OC Mode)
1114MHz Core (Boost Clock:1253MHz) (Gaming Mode)
1051MHz Core (Boost Clock:1178MHz) (Silent Mode)
link:http://hardwire.in/home/1723-msi-gtx-970-gaming-4-gb.ht...
whereas the zotac standard reference counterpart has
Core clock : 1076 MHz (base), 1216 MHz (boost)
and extreme version has Core clock : 1203 MHz (base) 1355 MHz (boost)

Please help me out on how important the clocking speed is and which card is future proof,as in the sense that it should at least let me play games the next 5 years at least.

Yes, that MB has a PCIe 3.0 x 16 slot and it should work just fine...Thank you for your reply.
Could you also suggest a good PSU to go with it? I am planning to buy a GTX 970 but cant decide whether to buy MSI one or the Zotac one. As these two are the only possible ones i can get online in India. And also i plan to buy a good PSU for it.
Thanks for your time.
