Hey guys,
I'm planning on building a gaming/streaming pc and here are the specs that I have gathered so far:
Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO, Intel Z97, Socket 1150, Motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K Socket 1150
RAM: Corsair Memory Dominator Platinum 16GB DDR3 1866 MHz CAS 10-11-10-30 Dual Channel Desktop
GPU: PNY Nvidia Geforce GTX 980 4GB (Maxwell) Nvidia PCI Express Graphics Card x 2 (SLI)
Money is not an issue here as i am an ethusiast. Since i'm going for SLI gtx 980 4gb i'm also considering getting a 1x Gtx Titan. My question now is will gtx 980 sli perform better than a gtx titan? Or should i just get a titan and get sli in the future.
Thank you for your time.

Unless you're gaming higher than 2540x1440 or working with a HIGH end 3d video rendering program, there is really no need to sli 980s. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but the extra $600 won't make a difference on a 144hz monitor. I'd buy a single 980 and then buy a second if you ever, in the next 3 years, feel like it's not enough. Don't ever buy a titan.http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_9...
For Crysis 3 at 2560X1600 you have only 27 FPS with a single 980 and 52 with 980 in SLI.
Far Cry 3 goes from 41 to 78 FPS.
Yes, you do need SLI 980s.
