So, I have used apple computers all my life. I have little experience with windows, and I have no experience building computers. Over the past few months I have tried to educate myself on the subject to a point where I feel confident in my ability to put the parts together. The parts I have picked out are:
CPU- AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core $259.00
Motherboard- Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ $144.99
Memory- Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 $131.00
Storage- Seagate 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Hybrid $109.00
Video Card- Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 4GB Dual-X $336.00
Case- Thermaltake Chaser A31 Snow White ATX Mid Tower $167.00
Power Supply- Antec 550W ATX12V / EPS12V $129.00
Optical Drive- LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer $40.24
I live in New Zealand, so thats why the prices are so high. It is going to cost me around $1150, without factoring windows or monitors in. I am just wondering what kind of performance I will get with this build. I may end up getting a 280x ($401) instead of a 270x, Will I get a substantial performance boost for the extra money? And what ways can I improve this build with a minimal price increase. I can go up to around $1600, but I also need to get a monitor and OS. I mainly just want to know if I am going to bottleneck parts.
