MSI GE60 - High CPU Usage after replacing fan
Greetings ladies and gentlemen, a tad new to this site so please bare with me.

A few months back I had a personal problem with the fan for my MSI GE60 laptop which I personally use for school purposes (graphics design) but suddenly the fan in itself started to behave erratically which resulted in me having to replace it completely.

Though afterwards things went for the absolute worst, with my CPU Usage suddenly reaching a ludicrous amount (100 when using Google Chrome) and my fan spinning uncontrollably when doing the simple of tasks.

This is hampering my work with Photoshop since I keep encountering random freezes, high CPU usage and my pc games being unplayable and crashing.

Specs:

MSI GE60-ONC
RAM: 8GB
CPU: Intel Core i5-3230m @ 2.60GHz

Problem: New fan refusing to stop speeding and CPU problem when using simple tasks.

If the fan is not functioning, the CPU will most likely overheat. To try and prevent overheating, Intel has set all their CPUs to throttle down at a certain temperature. If your CPU hits that temperature, it will lower it's clock speed, making the CPU hit 100% usage very often. Can you download Real Temp and look at your CPU temps from that?
