At first windows 8 installed fine, he even got a few essential programs installed and then it simply shut off. Then it started to do it more frequently up until you couldn't even log in without it shutting down.
So I made sure nothing was overheating and tried to reinstall windows. Now, once the first part of installation finishes, and the computer restarts, it will say "getting devices ready" and then simply shuts down. I get no error messages and no error codes.
Interestingly, while running from a live CD, or just sitting in BIOS, the computer runs fine, and will never shut off.
I ran some tests from Hiren's boot CD, including stress tests. Nothing is failing or overheating and the computer isn't shutting off. I am at a bit of a loss for what I should do, nothing has errors, but the computer still just shuts off when windows is running/installing.
I would love any help you can offer, and would be glad to do my best to answer any questions!
edit: I reseated the cooler after adding thermal paste, and also tried a different cooler with added thermal paste (bought another because I wasn't sure if the processor would come with one)

The CPU cooler isn't on properly and the CPU is heating up and shutting down.Re-seat the cooler.
