Upgrade or SLI?
So about 2 months ago I built my PC (i7-4790k, MAXIMUS VII HERO, ASUS DirectCU II GTX 780) and I was planning on SLI'ing 780s. I am wondering if I should just get rid of my 780 and buy a 980.

3 monitors should work, but 60 FPS at Ultra sin't guaranteed, especially since the cards are 780 and not 780 Tis.

I also want to set up a 3 monitor 1080p gaming setup. With this is mind, would two 780s still work on ultra?

I would say the 780 way as their prices are rapidly dropping because they are not in production anymore. Then, after a a few years, sell your 2 780s and get whatever the latest GPU you can afford.

Wait until the 900 series cards fill the supply pipeline and you can actually FIND them in stock, then make your decision.

No, stick with the 780.

my reasoning, a second 780 costs you ~$400 and in SLI will give you much better than a single 980 for ~$600.
