What's a good upgrade?
Hey, I don't know all to much about computers when it comes to what hardware is good or not. I'm looking for an affordable upgrade to be able to run mmo's with at least med/high settings with 60 fps and be able to stream it. I'm up for any suggestions of good hardware that's also affordable.

Decent FPS lack of Overclock hurts the build and it doesn't require you to have Ram over 1600mhz to make full use of the chip.

AMD Athlon X4 750K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor http://pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-ad750kwohjbox $79.49 @ OutletPC
MSI Radeon R9 270X 4GB TWIN FROZR Video Card http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-912v303020 $174.99 @ Newegg
EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply](http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-100w1050... $28.99 @ NCIX US

Better Option 2gb Vram Will average 25% to 40% better FPS stock over the Athlon Overclocked.

Intel Pentium G3420 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80646g3420 $67.99 @ Amazon
ASRock B85 Anniversary ATX LGA1150 Motherboard http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-b85anni... $56.98 @ Newegg
XFX Radeon R7 265 2GB Video Card http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r7265acnf4 $144.99 @ Newegg

Best Option a little over budget but the 4Gb Vram makes up for it. Amazing FPS Overclocked for Dual Core.

I think if you upgrade just the PSU and stick a decent video card in there, it may run what you want.

I would do that first before changing out the motherboard or CPU. Make sure the case will hold what you want and for about $2-250 you can get a huge boost in video performance. Take a look at one of these 3 cards http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-car...

For the 750Ti you may not even need to upgrade the power supply but you will lose out on some speed and ability to play on higher settings.

If you select to spend a bit more (which may be better as you have a lot more future use out of it and also headroom if you decide to change the CPU) and go higher than the 750Ti you will need to get another power supply.

From that link looks like your system had 8gb or RAM already so that is great for a gaming use system, try just a video card upgrade. You really may not need anything else. The A8 CPU may not be the best for games, but it's not a slow one either.

This is a bit overbudget, but it will destroy any upcoming game, and will do so for some time. Its the best you can get for the money right now.

Dearly Sorry... Here, this is the entire list of what all I have.

Motherboard:
MS-7778 (JasmineR)

Processor:
AMD A8 6500

Video graphics:
AMD Radeon HD 8570D

Power Supply:
Internal 300W (100V-240V)
( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03... , If you need to see more there is the link)

So, what would I need to upgrade off of that in order to play a lot of new games and mmos coming out with no problems while on higher end settings? Price range is about 300$-500$.

If you want to change motherboards (which is likely not needed to get a performance increase) you can switch to an intel i5 system. Otherwise, what motherboard do you have now? You may be able to upgrade to a pretty good CPU if you have an FM2+ motherboard FM2 the A8 is close to the top however. Upgrading just the video card to an add-one one would give you a good performance boost just on it's own, and maybe upgrading the RAM depending on how much you have.

Also need to list your power supply.

Basically, just list your full system first before checking for upgrades.

Lol sorry, just realized I didn't put what I currently had (was up for about 26 hours last night when I made this). I'm mainly looking for upgrading my videocard , processor , and motherboard (Mainly about everything). I currently have an AMD Elite Quad-Core A8-6500 Accelerated Processor and AMD Radeon HD 8570D Graphics card. My price range is about 300-500 pref., but I do have money to spend so even higher if I can't find anything good in that price range.

You say "upgrade;" so please tell us what you have now. Do you want to add to it to improve it, or are you interested in an entirely new system? There is a sticky in the New Build forum on how to ask for new build advice. It contains questions that will give the members all the information they need, including your budget, the games you want to play, any particular preferences, or other limitations (e.g. must be easy to carry, or must be quiet, etc).

By upgrade, do you mean buying a new computer or modifying an existing one?
October 12, 2014 7:54:33 PM

What are you looking at replacing and what is your price range? What do you have that doesn't need replacing?
