So this is what you have in your build?

1. Core i3 540
2. GTX 750 Ti
3. 4GB RAM

If so, you should be able to play some modern games at 1080p and medium settings, but it depends entirely on the game in question.

When you say it was stuck during POST, can you remember what error message was displayed? The POST message may have simply been that the amount of RAM had changed and the computer wanted you to confirm it.

Nonetheless, if you really are stuck with 2GB RAM then you'll have to replace the motherboard. 4GB is quickly becoming the bare minimum for modern games. The extra expense of a new motherboard may put a hole in your wallet, but this would be an ideal opportunity to replace the processor as well.

umm at post screen it shows no error message ..just cpu i3 n all and 4gb tested ok..
btw i purchased gtx750ti as i was having 300watt powersupply ..n yes i wanna upgrade motherboard processor but not for atleast 8-9 months

The GPU will probably be fine for 1080p and medium-high settings, but the RAM and processor are definitely going to hold you back. What motherboard do you have? I don't understand how a DIMM slot will only support 2GB, that doesn't make sense.

its gigabyte GA-H55M S2V rev 1.4 motherboard of socker type 1156
first off all it has two slots for ram and i was using 2 ddr3 2gb ram sticks but eventually 1 failed then i was just using 2gb ram .. one day i was cleaning the cabinet and coz it showed powersaving mode when i was trying to turn it on.. i made a mistake while it was on i took out ram and while attaching it again i burned up the ram as well as slot... now i have 1 slot working so then i purched a new 4gb ram but it was stucked in POST screen .. i took my cpu to repairman he treid 2gb ram it worked..!
he told me many customers had this problem that their gigabyte motherboards of H55 series had stopped supporting higher gigabyte ram sticks i.e 4gb,8gb etc even though my motherboard had capacity of 32gb ! :'(
