Hi,
I've recently upgraded my PC with an SSD and since i re-installed windows, the games i play (such as Tomb Raider and Skyrim) will crash for a few seconds and then come back up, the screen went completely black (and sometimes completely white) during that crash.
However, sometimes when such a crash comes, the game will close itself...
I have the feeling (not sure though) that it's more often happening when the game has to load things, like when i discovered a new place in Skyrim. So i checked my RAM if that could be the problem but while gaming i never get over 6Gig (which i find a disturbing high amount...) and i got 8 Gig so not sure if that's the problem afterall
(i have my games saved on my HDD instead of my SSD, not sure if that makes a difference to my problem)
I got a new GTX660 in my PC,
8Gigs of RAM
AMD FX-8320
Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
WD Blue WD10EZEX, 1TB
SSD 840 EVO 250G Samsung
Got any ideas how to fix it?
EDIT: When my game crashes i get an error message from my friend Windows saying: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"
My RAM is just at a steady 4Gig while gaming and my resting mode is 3,6 Gig so nothing special there.
EDIT 2: just did some tests with 3Dmark and all the scores were average with similar systems.

So i think it's something software related and not hardware.

Euhmm, how do i make sure it is my GPU for sure? because i would hate it to send my new GPU off for another 8 weeks and then get it back with the message that everything is working fine...
I am going to install a game on my SSD instead of my HDD, just to make sure that it's not a problem with my HDD

Unfortunately, I had this problem and the fix I told you didn't work so I sent off the card and I'm running this computer on motherboard graphics until I get a new card.
