Parts for my first gaming PC build
Hey guys so I'm 16 and planning to build a gaming PC. I've seen a lot of YouTube videos and have the building part of it down. I've listed the following parts and wanted to know if they'll be able to run most modern games at very high settings at 1080p at 60fps.

1. Intel core i5 4440 3.1ghz CPU
2. MSI twin frozer radeon r9 280x
3.2*4gb corsair vengeance ram
4.Asus b85m-g motherboard
5.corsair vs650 PSU.
6. Cooler master haf 912 mid tower case.
7. 2tb Seagate barracuda

I don't plan to oc the CPU and I might PC the GPU slightly.

Thnx in advance.

No you will need a H97/Z97 chipset motherboard for native support of the 4690.

No you should get the i5-4670 if you can. The i5-4690 is the Haswell refresh variant which probably requires a BIOS update on the B85 motherboard before it accepts the CPU.

If that is the case you will need an older LGA 1150 processor to get the board to flash, which is obviously not an option.

Well we can't have new products every month or week. Whether or not to wait for new product releases is up to the buyer.

Usually smart buyers don't wait and get products that have been out for some time. That way the products get properly reviewed and fixed if necessary (EVGA 970 I'm looking at you) and their prices are given time to drop (maybe a discount too)

And then there are always rich people who want to blow a load of money on the newest toys. If you got the money to be an early adopter why not? But they might get stuff with defects (early production) and miss out on the later enhanced versions of the same thing.

I'm new to gaming PCs but I noticed how most GPUs and processors are at least a year old, is that normal? Or do u wait for the latest stuff to release?

Battlefield 4 benchmark by Guru3D, almost a year ago

http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=articles&action=file...

Now with all the game patches and driver optimizations, you should easily get over 80fps on the same benchmark at 1080p.

But keep in mind that benchmark is done on a singleplayer segment. In multiplayer matches with the big maps and all the stuff flying around you will get a lower average framerate. As you shift your camera around, the framerate will jump up and down. That's just how the game works.
