ASUS Z9PE-D16 doesn't start, have a couple of concerns
Hi all,

I have ASUS Z9PE-D16 and EVGA 600B 80PLUS installed in Raidmax Vampire ATX Full Tower. CPU's, RAM, hard drives are all unplugged. When I push power button on my case nothing happens(
I have 2 concerns.

1) PCU has only 1 EPS 12v but the motherboard needs 2. I plugged only one and expected at least fans to start spinning but nothing happened( Again, even CPU's are not plugged. Will that guy help 4 Pin Molex to 8 Pin ATX EPS12V Motherboard Power Supply Adapter Converter Cable ?
2)Case is equipped with 2 pin reset and 2 pin power switches but in mobo manual I see 3 pin for power (Ground, PWR, Ground) and 3 pin for reset (NC, Reset, Ground). Have no idea how to deal with that(

Any suggestions?

Yeah, I would think anybody would realize the cpus need to be installed or it's not going to do anything, but I guess I shouldn't assume anything when it comes to novice builders.

1. You probably need a CPU in to get it to turn on and spin up the fans. Assuming you're going to use 2 CPUs, I agree you need to get an appropriate PSU.

2. The Power and Reset switches need to be able to be able to connect their signals to ground. Polarity doesn't matter: you just need the Power plug on adjacent PWR and Ground pins and Reset on the Reset and Ground pins.

Yes, you need both the CPU power plug and the motherboard ATX power plug connected. If your PSU does not have the correct plugs I would upgrade to a good quality PSU that DOES have them, rather than try to use a 4 pin molex adapter. It will probably work but it's not a good choice of options.
