PSU for GTX970
hi, so 2 weeks ago i received my GTX 970 G1 geforce graphics card, the installation went fine and everything i done a 3d mark and played on a new game on ultra settings and that was fine. but this past weekend i noticed when i started up my game i noticed a sound coming from the psu box and could see that the fan which is built in the psu box was starting to slow down and at some points stop this was causing my computer to get quite hot.

so my question is is my psu powerful enough for my rig , if not what should i replace it with or could it be another problem?

any info would be much appreciated and here is my rig info

NZXT phantom case 410
600W corsair psu (Gaming edition 80 plus bronze)
i7-4770k 3.5GHz (overclocked to 4.2GHz)
GTX970 geforce g1
1TB HDD
Corsair H55 CPU cooler
Gigabyte Z87 HD3 motherboard
8GB kingston hyper x RAM
5.1 sound card
with windows 7
it also has about 5 fans running and that includes the one behind the cpu cooler.

The CX500 , CX600 , and GS600 are the top 3 returned power supplies on the market.

The AX , AXI , HX , HXI , and TX Version 2 are the good lineups from Corsair.

But the thing is the fan on my psu cuts out and stutters a lot when playing on games it does not sound like it's handeling my graphics card.

That PSU should be able to handle you rig.I wonder if there is something, particularly dubious about your PSU.
The common diagnosis is:
1:Check every connections made to the system, especially power connections to mobo and GPU.
2:How many Power connections are to GPU,and how many you have connected (i.e 6-pin,8-pin)
3:If the sound particularly resonates fron the PSU fan,try cleaning the fan.
4:Note down GPU,CPU and Mobo temp.
Please do the following and respond..

ok, so i have done what you recommended cleaning the fan and checked the connections, i have the temps from when playing on a game i didn't play for long but it went up to 49 degrees on the gpu and 34 degrees on the cpu. any idea what it could be? the thing is it only comes on when playing a game, nothing else triggers it off!

I Will check the connections and temps when I get home as I am at work atm, but I ca. Tell you that the gpu takes one 8pin and one 6 pin .

It is a Fine PSU.It delivers 48A on 12V.The GS 600 is good enough to power GTX 970.
