GIGABYTE 970 G1 vs ASUS STRIX GTX 970
Hello guys

I have a question what would you pick G1 or Asus despite the fact that in NZ G1 price is 690 NZD and Asus 730 NZD where on newegg website G1 370 USD and Asus is 350 USD! What would you buy in my case?

Please don't tell me about MSI, it is faulty and has a coil whine problem. Therefore I am choosing only between Asus and G1

Thanks

I finally decided for my self that Gigabyte G1 is the best gtx 970!!! It can be overclokced to 1591 where Asus is stable at 1501 only... Also it has the best cooling system out of all 970. So G1 is the winner for me!

as of what I see to day the msi but then the gigabyte but then the size of it could be a factor on weather I want to see how it would cram into my case asus don't get considered around here anymore for anything overall I would go evga but there not looking to go right mow to me

in the end I will wait and see how this 900 cards will play out seems like theres bugs with them all on these first release cards and may be for the best to sit back and wait and see what the next batch or there REV 2 or cards they see these issues I see may get fixed on them[????]
too early for me to buy one

like I say it all a matter of personal preference on what YOU want just take all the info you can in and then YOU got to decide on what you feel is best for you and live with it
100 folks can say this is the greatest in the world and you get it to find for you its not you just roll the dice and hope its not snake eyes

Not only the link that you gave me! G1 can be overclocked to 1550 where Asus to 1500 it about 4-5 fps difference also it is on average cooler than the ASUS card, has a higher max power limit for the stock bios and it has a dual bios as well just in case!
G1 has more future and lower cost in NZ

How about you junkeymonkey, wjat would you buy an Asus or G1?

Asus with a good reputation ????

I guess that's a matter of opinion and personal preference

I just an article where asus and msi were destroyed by G1 mostly in everything!!!

http://www.overclock.net/t/1516121/gtx-970-comparison-s...

So I guess now it is all about Asus with a good reputation and G1 with higher clock and better cooling solution!

I still don't have any idea what I am going to choose but I have two weeks so I will let you know later.

Thank you all!!!

ASUS Strix has 0db fan technology. The fans will not spin until it reaches some temp. Some people does not like this feature.

Asus does not perform better please check benchmarks!!!

Anyway I like Asus as we'll it is a well known company with high reputation, BUT Gigabyte gives 4-5 more fps if using 1080p monitor and the same performance for 1440p I don't know why...

I am going to use 1080p Monitor and in average I will benefit with gigabyte 4-5 FPS some people may say it is only 5 fps but difference between 970 and 980 is 10 fps when OC both so 5 fps isn't that small it's like 7% more!!!

Anyone has other thoughts?
