Ps3 port will output the display and the monitor port will take it (the monitor is output but the port is input)

The monitor has a port for the cable, you'll need a cable to connect it to PS3. The console needs composite to VGA adaptor for D-Sub ports. The port on monitor is for input, the port on PS3 is output, and the cable is the transmitter. The cable you chose is fine for the purpose.

Wait isn't the PS3 the input?
