Kraken x31 vs corsair h80i for GPU
I want to use one of these together with a kraken g10 to cool my r9 290x graphics card. Price is no issue. But which one is better the kraken x31 or the corsair h80i?

There is only one fan on it and it looks like a turbine. It already was in the Pc. I didn't build it myself and it doesn't stand on the recipe for it either. I do not really know how to post pictures.
I think maybe power color is the manufactor. At least there is a picture of power colors logo and the name of it on the fan.

I forgot to ask...what version 290x do you have? I just found this which might take a lot of the guess work out of what you are trying to do.

Depending on the manufacturer you have for your graphics card, you might be able to keep the current VRAM/VRM heat sink on it if it has one.

I have the amd radeon r9 290x. What exactly do you mean. Do I Then not have to buy all those smal parts? Do you know if it is possible to get that thing somewhere else than America?
Sorry for asking so much. But I am not so experienced and would like to learn more. I am very thankful for all the help.

But do you know who made the card, like EVGA, MSI, XFX etc... and is it a reference design i.e. it has the turbine style cooler or does it have two or more large fans on it? The different manufacturers usually have some form of a heat sink in place already for the voltage regulators and you might be able to just use that rather then place heat sinks on the VRAM and VRM yourself. This is of course depends on 1) if the card has a heat sink already in place and 2) if the G10 bracket does not interfere with manufacturer heat sink.

I can't give you any guarantees but I just want you to know that there are other possible solutions to buying heat sinks separately.

I think the biggest thing you need to look for are dimensions. The first link appears to be correct for the VRAM but the listed dimensions of 17mm X 12mm don't match up with it's square appearance which is strange. The second link I believe those heatsinks will be too large for the VRM because they are pretty small.

I don't have first hand experience but from what I have been looking at you want something like a 6.5mm X 6.5mm for the VRM, I didn't find one on the german site but it would be similar to the following.

http://www.amazon.com/Cosmos-Aluminum-Cooling-Heatsinks...

or the more expensive http://www.amazon.com/Enzotech-MOS-C1-MOSFET-Heatsinks-...

Ok thank you again for the quick help.

(Sorry I don't know why the links don't work. If you want to help me and look at them you probably have to copy paste them. Thank you in advance)

Most of the heatsinks I have been looking at come with a thermal tape pre-attached, but read the reviews because depending on the brand they can fall off easily.

You can also grab something like http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GIM9V8/ref=s9_simh... which has better sticking power.

You could go with a thermal compound that is designed to adhere but it can get messy and I believe those are a more permanent solution.

Sorry for another question. but I do live in Denmark, so I can only buy from Amazon.de/co.uk or other more "local" countries. I have found the bigger heatsink you linked here. But I didn't find the vga ram and voltage regulators.
So I wanted to ask if these also would be good enough?
