i just got my MSI GTX 970 twin frozer 5 today
i also installed MSI gaming app
it has 3 modes: silent mode, gaming mode and OC mode
i know OC mode is the best performing mode
so when i wanted to switch to that i asked me to restart
and when i did i got a notification that OC Genie on my Z97 gaming has been turned on
and when i opened the bios it also said that my CPU frequency is 4000 MHz (i5 4690K)
does that mean that the OC mode has automatically overclokced my CPU as well?
my CPU still has a stock fan
and i dont want to oc for now since im absolutely new to PC gaming
is the gaming app oc mode supposed to do that?
isnt it meant only for the GPU?
what do i do if i dont want to OC my CPU but only want to OC my GPU upto frequencies permitted by MSI
ie which will not void my warrenty

Get rid of the MSI app. No reason to use it, as the card will boost to it's max clock out-of-the-box.just curious that if will boost to max out of box, whats the point of the 3 modes?
It's just MSI. Lowering the clocks could help it stay cool and quiet, but it's mostly just marketing.
