Sooo... exactly how high a temp is considered safe for a GPU/CPU
Long story short, my case fans aren't working on my gaming rig.
I will get these fixed in about a weeks time, but until then i had some questions

With out the case fans working, according to HWMoniter, under full load my GPU goes to like 72C and my CPU maxes out at about 69C

Here are the specs important to this problem:

Motherboard: MSI 970a-g46
CPU: AMD FX (Vishera) 6300 six cores (im using stock cooling for now)
GPU: Asus Direct CU II TOP R9 270x
Case: Enermax Ivektor Mid-tower case

Another worry is that i believe my GPU spits out hot air on to my motherboard, and without fans pushing it out, causing it to reach temps of about 60-70C max.

I dont know if these are safe temps, so please advise whether i should stop using my pc until i can get the fans fixed or not. Or maybe some alternative cooling solutions for the time bieng.

Motherboards have many components that have different temperatures and different maximum operating temperatures. As long as you have an ambient around 20-25C and you don't close you computer in a drawer or something, you will be fine. Just keep the dust out.

70C on R270X is good. Safe temps for Vishera are 70 and under.

Thanks! Do you have an opinion on what the optimum (or safe) temperature range is for the motherboard im using?

You could always take off the side of the case to make it run cooler. It would also be louder of course but at least you won't fry anything.
