I have put in a new hard drive & now when I try to boot it dosen't reconize my cd drive. I am trying to install win 7. It says my cd drive is not present! Any help would be great.

Yes this drive was reconized yesterday. I'll be back in the morning, gotta get a little sleep. Thanks for the help, everyone.

Is this a new cd drive? If not has it ever worked before?

(to put a picture here upload it to a website (I prefer imgur) then copy/paste the link)

In Bios it says cd drive not present. The new hard drive shows up but its not internal sata hard drive. I don't know how to put a picture on here.

Can you take a picture of where its getting stuck so we can better understand? Also do the drives show up in the bios?

I checked all the cables. They are fine. Why would it not reconize it? In system setup it says internal sata hard drive, cd drive & floppy disk are not present. I don't understand it?

Installing the hard drive should have nothing to do with the CD drive. Make sure you didn't disconnect the SATA cable on both ends from the CD drive by accident. Go ahead and re-seat the SATA cable and power cable.
